Are you looking for the perfect place to come on holiday with your dog (or two), then we think we offer the perfect place and this is why...
We have always welcomed dogs to our holiday let and we strive to ensure all members of the family are comfortable during your stay, even the four legged ones!
We provide a doggy welcome pack, which includes dog treats, a dog towel to dry off muddy paws, a tennis ball and dog waste bags. We also have a doggy 'forgot something' basket, for you to make use of if needed during your stay, this includes a pet mat, dog leads, bowls, more doggy towels and a tin of food.
To save you having to bring a dog crate, as they take up so much space in the car, we have one available to use during your stay.
Whilst we do ask that you keep your dog off the furniture, we do accept that you sometimes cant beat a doggy cuddle on the sofa and therefore also offer the hire of dog sofa covers for a charge of £10 if this is something you would enjoy during your stay. (Please note we do request dogs are kept out of the bedroom areas).
The Croft has an outside tap, which is perfect for washing off muddy paws and wellies after exploring the local area and the living area is laminate floored to save muddy paws on carpet. There is a courtyard area to the front, accessed by patio doors from the living area, perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring and there is a separate fenced, lawned garden just a couple of steps from the courtyard/front door for you and your dog to enjoy. In the autumn and winter, dogs love to curl up infront of the log burner.
We are based in the heart of The Blackdown Hills, which are designated as a National Landscape area, with so many places to explore with your four legged friends. The area straddles the Somerset/Devon border and is rich in wildlife, heritage and expansive views. There are a multitude of walking routes, that and lots of places to visit, that your dog will love. More information on the area can be found on the Blackdown Hills National Landscape Website.
Our local pub, The York Inn welcomes dogs to its warm and cosy bar area, with the perfect courtyard garden for summer nights and having won Somerset Pub of the Year 2023, it is one not too miss! There are also lots of other dog friendly pubs and cafes in the local area, such as The Candlelight Inn, Otter Valley Ice Cream and The Sidmouth Arms.
If you are looking for somewhere to let your dog run wild, there is a large selection of local dog fields that can be hired, all within a twenty minute drive of the farm. We have The Dog Park in Hemyock, Heavenly Views Dog Park and Houndsville.
We are within reach of plenty of dog friendly beaches in East Devon and Somerset, but do remember to check if there are any exclusions prior to visiting. The National Trust also have a number of properties in the locality, most of which allow dogs, our favourites being Wellington Monument and Barrington Court.
Why not book your stay now so you can let us know what your favourite thing to do in the area with your four legged friend is...
