Sidmouth

Sidmouth is around a 30 minute drive from the farm. The town offers the perfect beach for families, walks for those wanting to take in the scenery and plenty of restaurants and shops to keep you fed, watered and able to indulge in a little retail therapy. The Jurassic Coast, which Sidmouth forms part, in a World Heritage Site where fossils are very common.

The beach is a combination of shingle and sand, so perfect for beach all kinds of beach lovers and the dramatic cliffs, stereotypical of the Jurassic Coast, provide a good amount of shelter. We visited on a Saturday afternoon for a walk along the promenade and it was absolutely beautiful. There is something about being by the sea that makes me feel relaxed and at peace and therefore every holiday for me includes a trip to the seaside.

The beach really is the perfect day out for families, it can be very low cost if you take a picnic. Every child loves building sandcastles and paddling in the waves and you never know, you may even find a fossil! Parking in the town is plentiful and the locals are very friendly.

Make sure you include a trip to Sidmouth in your holiday itinerary.
